D'Arcy calls for reform of current farm inspections regime

The current system is grossly unfair and causes unnecessary stress for farming families. I believe that there is space for a ‘common sense’ approach to be implemented from Europe, with farmers provided with a decent amount of notice before an inspection.

“The goal of inspections must surely be to ensure that everything on the farm is in order and must not simply be to ‘catch the famer out’. Implementing a common sense regime where proper notice is given will benefit everyone.

This issue has been raised by Simon Harris TD, European Elections candidate for the Ireland South constituency.
