Fine Gael Senator Michael D'Arcy , has said that the USC changes introduced in Budget 2016 will be evident to thousands of people who are getting paid today (Friday) for the first time in 2016. “Budget 2016 introduced a cut to the USC for low to middle income earners from 7% to 5.5%, reducing the tax rate to below 50%. The entry point into USC has also been increased to €13,000, exempting 90,000 low earners from the USC - 700,000 workers now pay no USC at all. Fine Gael Senator Michael D'Arcy has welcomed the news that recent strong tourism figures have been matched by a 17.5% jump in revenue. “The latest CSO figures show that revenue from overseas visitors this year has increased by 17.5% coinciding with a jump in the number of people visiting Ireland. “The figures show that spending in Ireland by overseas visitors, excluding fares to get here, rose by 17.5%, for the first nine months of the year, compared with 2014. The data also shows that the number of trips in to Ireland rose by 19.6%
